Solvay will build a new large-scale special polymer plant to meet the needs of China's rapid development.
Solvay will invest 120million euros in China for its high value-added products solef PVDF and tecnoflon FKM and the main raw materials needed. Before doing the material experiment, we will invest in vinyl fluoride monomer in China
Shanghai, June 27, 2011/AP Asia/-- Solvay group announced today that in order to meet the rapid growth demand for special polymers in the Asia Pacific region, A special polymerization plant will be built in China for solef polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), tecnoflon fluororubber (FKM) and the required main raw material vinylidene fluoride monomer products to improve the quality of spatial structure
the new plant will be located at Solvay's current plant in Changshu Industrial Park, Jiangsu Province, China, and is expected to be put into operation in 2014. The group will invest 120million euros to support this project, which is bound to increase the global production capacity of Solvay specialty polymers
tec shall mark the arrow of active deviation on the outside of the appropriate part; Noflon fluororubber series products are used in automotive, aviation, oil and natural gas and energy industries, which require seals to have high purity and long service life in corrosive chemical media and high temperature environment. Its typical products include O-rings, seals, gaskets and molded parts with complex structures. The development of China's automobile market promotes the growth of tecnoflon fluororubber demand
solef PVDF has excellent heat resistance, pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, mechanical stress resistance and wear resistance. It is widely used in many fields, including lithium batteries, chemical corrosion prevention, water treatment membranes, oil and natural gas
the new plant will be close to amodel's poly-p-phenylenediamine (PPA), ixef polyaromamide (para) and kalix (modified para) plants, which are under construction and are expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2012
Jacques van rijckevorsel, member of the Executive Committee of Solvay group and general manager of plastic business, said: "the new factory will enable Solvay to occupy this exciting, dynamic and potential regional market. We will bring customers more high-value-added polymers, which will help them deal with the impact of production on the environment and sustainable development."
Mr. Augusto di donfrancesco, senior executive vice president and general manager of global special polymer Business Department of Solvay, added: "Changshu plant will become a strong fluoropolymer and its important strategic raw material industrial base in China. We will increase the new production bases of sol PVDF and fluorotecnolon. By doing so, we will affect China's fluorine supply chain, be closer to our customers, and provide more diversified products."
