Solvay builds 100000 ton ECH unit in Thailand

an executive of Solvay Belgium recently said that the company plans to complete the construction of a 100000 ton/year epichlorohydrin (ECH) unit located in Mata Province, Thailand, in the second quarter of 2011. The total investment of the device is 184million US dollars, and the products are mainly used to produce epoxy resin intermediates. Solvay's unit in Thailand will use industrial grade refined glycerol produced in the production of biodiesel and oil chemicals as raw materials. The continuous production of new biodiesel and grease chemicals in Asia will increase the supply of glycerol in the region.
